DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – 2 NEWS is asking new questions about the investigation into 5 Montgomery County employees.
The Sheriff’s deputies are accused of sending racist text messages.
And Beairshelle Edmé is digging deeper into these allegations and their impact.
The deputies are not facing criminal charges, but they are being investigated for the alleged comments made via text messages.
Edmé sat down with an attorney to talk about what the Sheriff Office’s investigation into some of his own deputies may look like.
Two high-ranking deputies, Captain Tommy Flanders and Internal Affair’s Michael Sollenberger, are on paid administrative leave.
“Sheriff Plummer’s responsibility is to makes sure that the policies and procedures of his office are uphold,” explained attorney Michael Bly. “And he’s responsible for investigating questions involving those policies and procedures.”
