I am at work today, drinking my morning coffee, and unusually distracted by social media. I vow, from this day forward, to take Election Day off of work. Today is THE day many of us have been waiting for, the day millions of Americans go to the polls to cast ballots for representatives in government, including the President of The United States.
I voted early. I am reading already of long lines and poll-watchers. It is my hope that long wait times and bullies do not deter people from exercising their constitutional right to vote. Focus on the future. Our nation is recovering, albeit slow, but numbers do not lean left or right.
We cannot afford a government that is willing to legislate the rights of women to choose. The government already tells me that I cannot marry the person I love. I have been in a committed relationship for 11 years, through multiple celebrity and friends marriages and divorces. President Obama has made huge and historical strides for LGBT equality and rights.
CONservatives by definition are against change. We live in a world where everything around us is ever-changing. We need to move forward, PROgress.
